Chelveston

Chelveston is located on the A45, approximately 2 miles east of Higham Ferrers. It shares a Parish with Caldecott, ½ mile to the south. The older part of the village is compact in form with new development to the west and north. Chelveston was recorded in the Domesday Book as Celvestone. The Church of St John the Baptist, located between the two villages, dates from the mid 13th Century with main building work taking place in the 14th Century and 17th Century. The former RAF Chelveston is located to the east of Caldecott. Today, the site has been returned to agriculture. There is a nearby a housing estate occupied by American servicemen.
