Denford
The village of Denford is located to the west of the A604 approximately 1.25 miles south of Thrapston. It was recorded in the Domesday Book as Deneford.
The Church of the Holy Trinity - seen in the centre of the photo - dates from the mid to late 13th Century with building works in the 14th Century and restoration in the 19th.
Brick kilns in the Parish provided employment for the local population in the 19th Century.
There are 12 buildings within the village of special architectural or historical interest and the trees in the grounds of the vicarage are subject to a Preservation Order.
In 1991 the population was 251 with a housing stock of 105: the 1995 estimates are for a population of 253 and housing of 106.
The village is served by mains drainage and gas, a petrol station and a public house. A bus service operates to Thrapston and Raunds.
Since the building of the A14 the traffic flow through the village has greatly decreased and the roads, footpaths and facilities have been environmentally improved.
