Can anybody shed any light on the whereabouts of Mr. Henry J. Martin and his wife Joyce whose last known address was in Rushden. I have been contacted by Mr Martin`s daughter who has lived in America for many years. I`m in Bournemouth for 2 weeks, then I`m aupair in a family how live in RUSHDEN, but during day will be my free time, because I bring the children to the childminder from approx 7/8 am and I pick up them at 5 pm . So I would like know if it will be possible to find a job during my travel. I`ll live in RUSHDEN of 06.20 to 08.01.
I want a job, not to earn money, but to improve my english. So If you know some place where I can go or something, even if it`s 1 week, 2 weeks, could you told me it? I can work without earn money.
I juste want speak with english people.
I have experiment in restaurant as waitress, I have already been saleswoman in clothes shop.
PS: I can work some week-end.

i am interested in any history/ photo`s or story`s of the old unicorn in grove road, it was built in 1907 and was a pub / inn / public house till about 6 years ago. there must be loads of storys to tell. it was the old fire station drinking hole and i`m sure a lot of other local people used the old place. email me on steviec69@aol.com

Hi my name is Sharon Fisher maiden name Morse. I am trying to find anyone who remembers my mother, her name was Shirley Morse, and she lived somewhere in Rushden in the mid 1950s. I am told she worked at Chelveston as a cashier. The reason being I am now 52years old and only found out 2-3 months ago that my father was an American GI. I have placed photos on the Rushden site, but as of yet no-one has contacted me. I dont know if anyone still uses that site or this, all I can do is hope and pray that people do and that someone will remember my mother, and hopefully my father as I DO NOT HAVE MUCH INFORMATION on him. I am trying to locate Rita Adcock who is believed to live in or around the Rushden area. Rita should be approximately 70 years old by now. Her brothers are called Michael, John, Derrick, Les (all surname Adcock) and she grew up in Kettering. Her mother`s maiden name was Pepper.
